Making the Commitment

We have spoken to lots of people about raising the number of home grown kids and most of them agree that it is a worthwhile idea.  If you are reading this it means that you, too, are interested in the concept.

So while you are full of enthusiasm take a few minutes to think about the staggering implications of being responsible for another human being on this planet.

NO, we don’t want to talk you out of it.  We do, however want you to take into account the reality of the responsibility involved:

-                     Do you have existing children.  How will they feel?

-                     Do you have room for an extra family member in your existing household?

-                     Are both parents behind the idea?

-                     Even though it may be a bit of a struggle (i.e. worthwhile sacrifice) are you confident that you can handle it?

-                     If you (the mother) are working, are you satisfied with maternity leave arrangements with your employer?

-                     Do you have a good support network of helpers (relatives/friends) who you could depend on in an emergency?

-                     What are the child care services like in your community?

-                     Now, who did you give all your nursery stuff to?

These are just a few things to consider.  We will undoubtedly expand them as the website progresses.

We want all parties to be 100% behind you on this so that your new baby will be welcomed and loved.

Remember! If you had to sacrifice your Home Cinema for this note the following:

-                     The movies coming out of Hollywood at the moment are hopeless.

-                     It has been researched that the excitement generated from ownership of a new material possession lasts less than 2 weeks.
